Pumpkin spice smoothie

As pumpkin season is still on both in Poland and in India where I am currently staying here is a quick recipe for the delicious, energizing smoothie, that disappears way too fast 🙂 It has a lot of warming spices so you can enjoy it once in a while even when the pavements are sprinkled with frost and snow (unless you have cold, runny nose or too much dampness/phlegm in general, than rather skip this one and make a nice, hot pumpkin soup or this delicious porridge instead).

As the consistency is pretty thick it makes a great base for the morning smoothie bowl with some nuts, bee pollen, goji berries or raisins and a bit o tahini on top.

RECIPE

2 servings
150 ml vegan milk (I use rice or almond, the coconut will nicely fit here too)
100 ml water
1 frozen banana (peel to freeze)
4 tbsp pumpkin puree
0,5 tsp cinnamon powder
0,25 tsp each: nutmeg, ground cloves, allspice, turmeric
pinch of salt and pepper
1 tsp maca powder (optional)
2 tsp cashew butter (or almond butter)
5-6 dried dates (if they are not soft enough to blend pour a bit of hot water and set them aside for 10 min)

Add all ingredients in a blender, pour milk and start blending. Then progressively add water, maybe you will not need all of it so better not to pour all at once. Serve freshly prepared and enjoy good mood 🙂
